Good advice from the moral watchdog that is Canon cameras!

Camera gear for the backpacker

I’ve been a Canon user for many years now since the days of film camera. Though I have dabbled with a Panasonic compact and more recently the iPhone.

No doubt that phone cameras have come a long way and produce stunning results but I still like prefer the feel and functionality of an SLR-type camera.

Though I recently invested in the new EOS-R, my first mirrorless camera. The body is much more lightweight for travelling and I can still use my collection of pro “fast” lenses with an adaptor.

It has also allowed me to start on a journey as a vlogger which interests and excites me as a visual storyteller.

Get yourself down to a local camera shop and build a relationship. I’ve been using the guys at the Strand branch of the London Camera Exchange. The staff are diamonds and have given me so much help with equipment and technique that I can’t thank them enough.

Your local camera store will have knowledgeable staff and will often pricematch with online competitors.
